The Volksleisure Volkswagen T6 Reimo Trio High-Style, making its debut at the Motorhome and Caravan Show at Birmingham’s NEC (16 to 21 October 2018), is being built at Westward Leisure’s workshop in Bideford, north Devon, and is available from Volksleisure’s new showroom near Bradford, West Yorkshire.
Volksleisure and Westward Leisure are experienced Volkswagen specialists and have been producing their own Volkswagen-based campervans for several years.
Reimo is one of Europe’s leading producers of campervans and accessories, and with more than 30 years’ experience, it has earned an excellent reputation for German quality and design. Reimo supplies parts to many converters, but only official, authorised agents can produce its campervans.
The Volksleisure Volkswagen T6 Reimo Trio High-Style is based on Volkswagen’s T30 chassis with the 150PS engine, six-speed manual transmission and the top, Highline trim level. This includes 16in alloy wheels, factory-fitted (heated) swivel front seats, Climatic (semi-automatic) air-conditioning, body-coloured bumpers and door mirror housings, rear parking sensors, cruise control, heated windscreen. Customers also have the option to choose a long wheelbase model (+£1,800), DSG auto gearbox (£2,000) or a TSI petrol engine. Volksleisure’s version of the Reimo Trio High-Style has its own LED ‘mood’ lighting system to enable owners to create a totally different atmosphere inside the campervan, day or night.
The high standard specification includes the Reimo Variotech 3000 rear seat (for three people) and rail system in the floor which slides the seat the full length of the interior and has been through in-chassis testing and complies with the latest European standards.
In practise, this means the three rear seat passengers can travel right behind the front seat occupants, if desired, with maximum space behind them for bikes or other luggage, or sit around the table together at meal times or for a family games night; alternatively, it can slide right to the rear to maximise living space. The rear seat has storage underneath it and has a hatch to enable long items like skis to be carried. Extra, individual seats can be added so it can carry up to seven people, or the rear seat can be removed completely if you need van-like carrying capacity.
Other specification highlights include: cooker with a two-burner hob with glass lid and sink with tap with shower hose; on-board fresh and waste water storage (under slung tank optional); removable carpets; 12v/240v/USB sockets; gas locker for two 3kg bottles; 40-litre Waeco compressor fridge (with ice box); a 115Ah leisure battery; Porta Potti (which fits in cupboard under cooker); and high gloss furniture (available in choice of colours) with soft-shut drawers.
Options include a double bed in the elevating roof, solar panel, metallic paint, two-tone paintwork, Thule awning, Webasto digital heater, and aftermarket allow wheels.
